We start our yearly Christmas tree adventure the day after Thanksgiving. The car is packed and we hit the road for a two and a half hour trip to Evergreen Ridge Christmas Tree Farm in Newland, North Carolina. The journey begins with a stop at a 3000-foot elevation at Jonas Ridge to take a scenic photo then off to the farm. Once there, we scour the mountaintop for the perfect tree, grab a cup of warm apple cider, cookies and take a hayride through the farm. Our family makes a night of it with a stay at the top of Beech Mountain, but is a great day trip.
